Athithi devo bhava …. The Guest is God
Over the years, the dedicated group (Shiva Family), gradually grew around Swamiji, observing and absorbing His ideals. Being a monk, Swamiji seeks nothing except to give love and joy to all around Him. Seeing that many of His devotees were excellent cooks and they relished feeding others, He inspired opening of Annalakshmi, where the love and joy could extend to all those who came.
Swamiji made us open our hearts to accept the whole mankind as our kith and kin and spread the love to all - whom we do not even know, to create a continuous ring of love that germinates and grows into new friendship and bonds by expressing our love through Sathvik food.
Swamiji brought in a unique concept of
EAT as you want and PAY as you wish !
with a staunch belief and  trust in the inherent goodness and generosity of human heart.
Swamiji made the concept of ancient Anna Chathrams a reality today in various parts of the globe – Malaysia, Singapore, Australia and in Chennai and Coimbatore in India.
The food at Annalakshmi is delicious and nourishing and priceless, because of the spirit with which it is cooked by mothers and grandmas, graduated in the university of tradition and is served with joy. We present many delightful menus, owing to their rich and combined experience.
Swamiji’s devotees carry out multifarious tasks on volunteer basis, for the joy that comes from true service, seeking nothing in return. While some of the key staff volunteer full time, the rest of the Shiva Family, professionals from all walks of life, roster themselves for duty during their free time to help in any capacity. The collective effort creates an overall ambience of well being that diners are immediately sensitive to. Tasks undertaken range from cooking, cleaning, floor washing, dishwashing, to administration.
While you dine here, through your generosity, you not only give us the honour and privilege to serve you but you also provide food for another person who has no means to buy a meal.
